A missing tablet in a blister pack is a serious compliance failure, but blistering runs far too fast for reliable human checking. The customer needed certainty on every pocket of every strip, not a sampled confidence level.
How we approached it
Area-scan camera over the sealing station with strobed illumination to freeze motion
Pocket-by-pocket presence check with a fixed region of interest per cavity
Rejection of the whole strip on any missing tablet, timed to the indexing cycle
Recipe switching so format changes do not require re-teaching from scratch
The outcome
Every pocket is verified rather than sampled
Missing-tablet strips are diverted automatically before cartoning
Batch records carry inspection counts for regulatory review
